Brief Summary:

Manhunter makes short work of a robbery attempt by Skorpio utilizing Dylan's new teleporter. Afterwards, Kate is off to a meeting with DEO Director Bones, who has an offer for Kate. Dylan confronts Kate's tabloid stalker and Walt, Kate's alleged father, kidnaps Ramsey and attacks Peter in his home.

Full Story:

Kate starts training with Mark Shaw at Dylan's. Shaw nails her with a blast from her own staff, but it has no affect on her since Dylan "calibrated the suit's energy source to Kate's bio-energy." Dylan also made the staff collapsible, but that's not all as Kate rushes off to stop a bank robbery in the new teleporter Dylan cooked up. In Kate's first mission to stop a crime that wasn't a result of one of her trials, she quickly dispatched Skorpio and sent him out to the cops in his birthday suit, happy with the fact that she has a "reputation".

Walt, the man claiming to be Kate's father, goes to get Ramsey from school. Ramsey's teacher, Mrs. Daughert, is reluctant to release him to Walt until Ramsey comes down and addresses Walt as "grandpa" and she allows it for just this once. Walt promises that "this'll never happen again."

As Kate's boss, Howard, is about to hand her the Skorpio case, Cameron Chase interrupts, resulting in Howard's departure. Chase tells Kate they need to talk and she fears for the worse, but much to her surprise, Cameron actually approves of her methods and tells her there's someone that wants to meet her after a brief discussion of Chase's nausea powers (displayed in issue 14). On the way out Kate tells Damon to take the lead on the Skorpio case.

Meanwhile, on the way back from his workshop, Dylan notices Shaw in front of the TV, mumbling to himself. Dylan thinks he's just talking to the TV, but Shaw's words suggest otherwise: "I know what you're trying to do and it won't work! I'm done! I--" As Dylan looks to the TV he sees Ted Shoemaker, the tabloid reporter that's been following Kate (since issue 3), and instantly recognizes him and goes off to "finish something up in the workshop."

After waiting in the lobby for over an hour, Cameron tells Kate that he's ready to see her now... alone. After sharing a smoke with DEO Director Bones and a few ice breaker questions, the two get down to business.

As Peter Robinson chews out Mrs. Daughert at the school for letting Ramsey leave with his "grandfather", he receives a call from Walt telling Peter to meet him at Peter's house for a chat alone.

Ted Shoemaker enters his apartment with thoughts of tacos and Skinimax on his mind when his face meets an armored fist. The fist belongs to Dylan Battles, who is decked out in a full exoskeleton and tells Ted that he wants to talk about Kate Spencer!

Director Bones offers Kate a job working directly for him, not the DEO and not the Suicide Squad. As Bones begins to recite the confidential specifics, Peter charges into his house yelling, "Ramsey! It's Dad! Are you ok?!" Peter notices Ramsey apparently asleep in a chair when he's attacked from behind by Walt and thrown into a TV set and knocked unconscious.

Back at the DEO, Bones calls Chase into his office stating that Kate wanted to answer his request with both of them together....

"OK, Bones..."

"I've made a discision" Kate turns to tells them.
