Manhunter 20K Challenge

Manhunter Comics, in an effort to ensure the continuing publication of Manhunter, proudly presents:

The Manhunter 20K Challenge

Dan Didio recently said that Manhunter is in no danger of cancellation, but the truth is that guarantee will run out eventually. Look at H-E-R-O and Doom Patrol. Both at one point had guarantees and both have since been cancelled. So, we Manhunter fans can't rest on our laurels because of the Didio comment. It will not last forever and sales on the title still need to rise. In an effort to get this book up to sustainable levels, I'm posing a challenge to the Manhunter fanbase. Generally, twenty thousand copies is the cutoff point for DC titles. The October sales of Manhunter #15 were 14,345. That is over 5000 copies before we can really consider Manhunter safe. The challenge I am posing is for Manhunter fans to do whatever they can to get sales on Manhunter up to 20,000 with #25. That gives us 4 months to meet the goal. Icv2.com's Top 300 will be the gauge we go by. So get out there and talk this book up. Make sure your retailer is ordering copies for the shelf. Write reviews and recommend this book any time you see someone looking to pick up a new book. I think we can do it. How about you?

At Comicbloc.com, Manhunter writer Marc Andreyko added to the Challenge,

"and, to do my part of the challenge, if your LCS doesn't carry MH, send me their e-mail and snail mail addresses. i have an offer for them: if they order 5 copies of #20 (the first OYL book), i will reimburse them for their costs on any unsold copies!

and if your store orders MH and sells out and/or only orders for pull customers, i will extend the same deal : order 5 of #20, whatever you don't sell, i'll reimburse you.

(and if you do sell 'em, keep ordering it!!!!)"

marc

"and the store that sells the most copies will get 5 signed copies of the TPB from me! for free! (and, if the numbers really wow me, a special, once-in-a-lifetime gift!!!)"

Marc Andreyko later added -

"I'm thinking of doing a two-tiered prize for retailers:

1) i will give both a store in a big city (NY, LA, SF etal.) and a smaller market with the highest sales on Manhunter a guest appearance in an upcoming issue!

2) and for the fan who has helped with getting the most readers, i dunno, maybe an appearance as a villain's flunkie who Kate
kills?"

Also -

"How 'bout I make the prizes for retailers international (heck, maybe one per continent)?"
